CN Blue has already established itself as more than just an “idol band,” but rookie band Busker Busker is proving to be a formidable force in its own right with its debut album.
While it’s true that the two bands have their own distinct musical color, CN Blue and Busker Busker also have more in common than meets the eye as revealed on the April 24 broadcast of Mnet’s Wide Entertainment News.
For one, CN Blue and Busker Busker both boast talented singer-songwriter leaders. From Love Revolution to Y, Why, CN Blue leader Jung Yong Hwa wrote the majority of the songs on the band’s album, while Busker Busker’s Jang Bum June is credited for writing every song on the band’s debut album, including the hit Cherry Blossom Ending.
“I began writing songs during my senior year of high school,” said Jang Bum June. “My experiences from then are contained [in the songs].”
Jung Yong Hwa, who appears to be on the same page as Jang Bum June when it comes to songwriting, once said, “When I write songs, rather than indirect experiences, I try to write about my own personal experiences.”
According to the segment, the members of CN Blue and Busker Busker, who have stood on some fancy music program and concert stages, also enjoy performing for fans on the street, from Seoul’s Hongdae campus to the streets of Japan.
