I totally love that he writes his own lyrics and that he's writing in English even though it isn't his first language. And he's really good! I just wish sometimes companies would spell check their artists' songs beforehand. XD

ReplyDeleteI like the music for “I Don’t Know Why” but, the lyrics…? I have to agree with whoever said that companies should do a spell check before making a release. And I mean that in the nicest possible way, by the way. English is not my mother language so I understand how hard it must be for YongHwa.
That said, I love, LOVE, the accompanying track, “Lie.” It quite literally gave me goose bumps!
I hope the boys do well in Japan! And Seobaby, too! <3
i feel that the lyrics of this song is actually for seohyun.. The way he states the events and feelings he wanted to know... The phrase 'don't tell me goodbye' does it mean that they've not parted and tell goodbye to each other??? There's a very high possibility that it's for seohyun...

i really don't believe that the company that manages CNBlue throw a song in English if were wrong? seriously? if the song is written in a certain way is to have more "meaning" itself, and is not the first time Yonghwa composed a song in English so do not think it is as some say "they have to review the letter or something "

From the lyrics, IMO, he is feeling dejected, emotional and confused. He has alot of unanswered questions, he would love to know how the other party feels about him but has no courage to ask her hence the confusion and the repetition of "I don't know why". Like what some of you said, it is definitly a confession of a one-sided love. To who, we don't know. It may or may not be Seohyun.
We have to hear the song to understand the gist and the emotions of the song.

ReplyDeletethanks DJHinata for interpreting the lyric. it's just bothering me that i couldn't understand what yonghwa is trying to say in his lyric. maybe people from fnc should consider to hire english teacher to improve english language skills among their artists. Don't worry Yonghwa, as time goes by, you may improve your language skills.
ReplyDeleteahaha DJHinata sure did a great job in expressing in a way that a true fan should express. I think that it can go either way, that they have some problems with english, or it's just meant to be that way, ie. I know im going theoretical here but there's a book called 'the colour purple' and the grammar and spelling's quite bad, but it's suppose to be written from the perspective for an american, non-educated woman, so it's understandable. it actually adds charm to the story. I hope people understand what im trying to get at here ... ahaha xD

the song has a nice beat, but the grammar isn't the best. Some lines just don't make sense to me. "I think about you a lot take care, do you wanna do?"

ReplyDeletein japan, they are true indie band.. in south korea they're idols[even though the company trying to state they're an indie band].. indie bands make their own music n mostly produce their own albums.. i think thats why there no someone that good in english check on his lyrics..
