Leader Taeyeon and Maknae Seohyun to dub ''Gnomeo and Juliet''

Hallyu Wave artists will be participating in the dubbing for the 3D animated movie “Gnomeo and Juliet.” While the voice actors of the English version were James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, the Korean actors will be T-ara’s Jiyeon and MBLAQ’s Lee Joong. Other cast members include SNSD’s Taeyeon and Seohyun, Super Junior’s Shindong, comedian Jung Juri and KARA’s Park Gyuri.
The movie involves two garden gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet. Based on the Shakespearean play (“Romeo and Juliet”), the two characters fall in love as they get entangled in the feud between their two rival families. The director of the movie, Kelly Asbury, also directed the popular hit “Shrek 2.”
Known as “acting idols”, Jiyeon and Lee Joon will take on the roles of Juliet and Gnomeo. Both have had prior experience in dramas and movies. Lee Joon appeared in “Ninja Assassin” as the younger version of Rain while Jiyeon has acted in “God of Study” and “Death Bell 2.”
Jung Juri has taken on the the role as a frog who serves as Juliet’s nanny and the couple’s sole supporter. She commented on the two lead actors saying, “Lee Joon and Jiyeon are the perfect match as a comedy couple. I'm so envious of their chemistry and teamwork.”
The movie is scheduled for release in April. Are you excited to hear the voices of your favorite idols on the big screen?
