Girls’ Generation will be performing
at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) TV Song Festival
on October 14th. Hosted by KBS, the event will take place at the KBS
Concert Hall in Yeouido, Seoul.
According to the festival’s
official website, the event is meant to commemorate the “celebration of
popular music representing the geographical and cultural expanse of the
Asia-Pacific region.” The festival aims to “promote and strengthen
cultural diversity through the universal allure of popular music,” and
to “develop the international profile of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting
Union.”
The ABU TV Song Festival will
showcase musical talents from the different member organizations of the
ABU. Girls’ Generation has the honor of representing Korea and KBS and
will perform alongside solo artists and musical groups from all around
the Asia-Pacific region.
