121226 [News] CN Blue Lands On No. 2 Spot in Japan′s Oricon Weekly Chart

CN Blue sold 42,500 copies of its new Japanese single album Robot in its first week, rising to no. 2 on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

Robot, CN Blue′s fourth single album in Japan, was released on December 19. On the day of its release alone it managed to sell 24,000 copies, showing early on that it would set a new record.

The album′s promotional single Robot was lyricized and co-composed by Jung Yong Hwa, while the tracks Ring and Starlit Night were each written by Jung Yong Hwa and fellow member Lee Jong Hyun.

The band thus became the only foreign singer in that week to appear in the Oricon Weekly Chart alongside Nogizaka46, Berryz Kobo, Dir En Grey and AKB48.

The feat follows one it previously achieved with its first studio album Code Name Blue, released on August 29. It managed to top the Weekly Chart after taking over the Daily Chart for two days in a row.

Farther back in February, the band had even become the first foreign band to top the Weekly Single Chart in 41 years with its second single album Where You Are.

On January 14, 2013, the band plans to return to Korea with a new album full of self-written tracks.
