121122 [News] SMTown idols arrive to frenzied fan welcome
More than 1,000 K-pop fans turned up at Changi Airport this afternoon, hoping to catch a glimpse of artistes such as Girls' Generation and Super Junior who are here for a concert - but only about 100 fans managed to do so.
The fans, mostly consisting of teenage girls, were split between Terminal 2 and the CIP Terminal as there was confusion over where their idols, who arrived on the 2.45pm flight from Seoul, would emerge from.
At around 3pm, fans outside the CIP Terminal burst into shrieks and screams, as the artistes were whisked away in at least eight vans with curtains and tinted windows.
The K-pop artists are in town for SMTown Live World Tour III in Singapore, which showcases artists under top Korean label SM Entertainment.
The four-hour, multi-act concert features performances by eight Korean acts at The Float @ Marina Bay, and will be the biggest K-pop concert staged here.
