120201 [News|] CNBLUE Recorded “MTV Unplugged” : First from a Korean Artist

Korean rock band CNBLUE became the first South Korean artist to ever performed in “MTV Unplugged” .

On January 31, CNBLUE recorded “MTV Unplugged” in Japan and performed a total of 12 hits songs in front of their fans. More than 150 fans gathered at the recording and cheered for the band’s lively performance.
“MTV Unplugged” , known for its acoustic live performances, with the artist in close contact with the fans, started its broadcast in 1989. World-famous stars such as Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey, Oasis have also appeared in this program. The Japanese production of the program began July last year.
As the first ever Korean artist to appear in“MTV Unplugged”  stage, CNBLUE  has made another “history”. Approximately 15,000 fans applied for the ticket to watch the recording, that’s 100 times more than the 150 seats prepared by MTV.

CNBLUE heated the stage especially with their second Japanese single “Where You Are” which aroused the audience’s reaction. The new single is officially released on February 1 in Japan.

“We were surprised to hear that the application for the tickets was 100 times more than the accommodated ones. We will do our best to show the fans the best stage performance they have ever seen. To our fans, we are really grateful,” said CNBLUE  members.

CNBLUE made their Japanese major debut on October 19 last year with “In My Head” that have sold more than 100,000 copies. That achievement was acknowledged by the Recording Industry Association of Japan and CNBLUE  received the “Golden Award”, proving their popularity in the country.

“MTV Unplugged” featuring CNBLUE will be aired on February 25.
